About Showbase

Showbase designs, builds and delivers temporary structures, hospitality environments and public-facing events across the UK.

Our work includes marquee installations, semi-permanent structures, internal fit-outs and live event builds. We operate in fast-paced environments where teamwork, physical effort and attention to detail matter.

Our longer-term venues require ongoing build, maintenance and operational support. That means consistent work and the chance to properly understand the spaces you’re helping deliver.

We are expanding our crew base across Manchester and Liverpool and are looking for both experienced senior crew and entry-level operatives to join our team.

The Role

This is a hands-on, practical role supporting the installation, ongoing maintenance and breakdown of temporary structures and live event environments.

You will work as part of a disciplined crew delivering marquee builds, structural installations, event infrastructure and hospitality fit-outs. Projects vary in size and complexity, and you may work across warehouse prep, on-site builds and live event support.

We are recruiting both:

  • Senior Crew – experienced operatives capable of deputising for the Build Manager or Warehouse Manager

  • General Crew / Entry-Level Operatives – reliable, hard-working individuals looking to build experience in the events and temporary structures sector.

Work is primarily across Manchester and Liverpool, with occasional travel further afield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation and dismantling of marquees and temporary structures.

  • Load, unload and prepare equipment in the warehouse and on site.

  • Support structural builds, flooring, staging and event infrastructure installation.

  • Follow instruction from Ops Team, Build Manager and Senior Crew.

  • Maintain high standards of safety and site discipline.

  • Operate safely in physically demanding environments.

  • Represent Showbase professionally on client sites and public-facing events.

  • For senior crew: support coordination of small teams and maintain build quality.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in events, construction, staging or similar practical environments desirable.

  • Previous experience of building clearspan or other marquee types is very desirable.

  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.

  • Able to follow instruction and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

  • CSCS, IPAF or PASMA advantageous but not essential.

  • Full UK driving licence desirable.
